Waxing – Men
How does threading work?
In threading, a thin cotton thread specially designed for tading is doubled and then twisted. It is then rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike using tweezers, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove short lines of hair.

What is waxing?
Eyebrow Waxing
Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet. Waxing is an ideal method to remove large amounts of hair at once, making it an excellent option for removing unwanted body hair.
The benefits of waxing
There are many benefits to waxing versus other forms of hair removal. Generally speaking, methods that remove the hair at the root are the most effective, efficient and yield better results.
Just like waxing, tweezing can pull unwanted hair from the root. However, tweezing hair by hair is not an efficient way to tackle large areas, as the process would be painful and take forever. Waxing, on the other hand, does the job in a fraction of the time, leaving your skin feeling as smooth and soft.
While depilatory creams or shaving are fast methods, they both remove the hair at the surface rather than the root. Within a few days, the hair can be seen at the surface.
With these methods, hair tends to grow back in a rough stubble.
Pulling the hair from the root means hair takes longer to grow back, as opposed to just cutting it at the surface level. This provides longer-lasting, silky-smooth results that shaving and creams cannot match.
Repeated waxing progressively results in a weakened hair follicle. Areas that are repeatedly waxed over long periods often exhibit softer regrowth.
How long does it last?
New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for two to eight weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week.
Can waxing be done on sensitive skin?
There are many types of waxing suitable for removing unwanted hair. We use gentle wax that is safe for sensitive skin.
Is waxing painful?
Our skilled beauticians are trained to perform fast and effective waxing treatments to minimize discomfort while providing you with the highest quality results.
Pre-Care Tips
Gently exfoliate the area a day or two before your waxing appointment. You want to make sure you remove dead cells and debris, so the wax can better adhere to the hair and not your skin.
Avoid arriving at your appointment wearing heavy moisturizers or lotions
Hair should be around 0.8 to 1.5 cm for best results
Avoid sun tanning before your treatment and always wear appropriate sun care when exposing your skin to direct sunlight.
Avoid applying active ingredients like acids and retinoids, as these can sensitize the area.

Post Care Tips
Skin might be slightly red after waxing. This is normal and usually goes away on its own within the first three days post-treatment.
We recommend wearing loose-fitting clothing to your appointment. Restrictive clothing can further irritate the skin and lead to unpleasant ingrown hairs.
Avoid using skincare with perfumes and active ingredients in the area until the skin calms down.
Avoid direct sunlight exposure for at least three days after your appointment
Use the appropriate skincare and follow your therapist’s recommendations.
These are just general guidelines. Remember to always listen to your therapist’s advice to make the most out of your waxing appointment!
Is Waxing Safe?
At Imaan’s Studio, we work in a safe and clinical environment and enforce the highest standards of safety and hygiene. We do not ‘double dip’ or recycle wax, resulting in an utterly hygienic process. ‘Double-dipping’ is the practice of dipping the spatula back into the wax pot after it has been in contact with the skin. As this could potentially transfer harmful microorganisms into the wax, we have a strict no “double-dip” policy. This means your therapist will always use a fresh, single-use applicator each time during your appointment.
