Electrolysis is the only hair removal method recognized by the FDA as permanent. Where laser targets pigment and can struggle with lighter or finer hair, electrolysis works directly on the follicle itself — which means it works on every hair colour and skin tone, everywhere on the body, including areas laser can't safely treat like the eyebrows and around the eyes.

How it works

A fine, sterile probe is inserted into the natural opening of each hair follicle — no cutting or puncturing of the skin. A small amount of electrical current is then applied, gently destroying the follicle's ability to grow hair. Because every follicle is treated individually, results are permanent for that hair. Hair grows in cycles, so a series of sessions is needed to catch each follicle at the right stage of growth; over time, sessions become shorter and further apart as regrowth thins out.

Aftercare

• Expect mild redness or slight puffiness for a few hours after treatment — this settles quickly
• Avoid touching or picking at the treated area as it heals
• Skip makeup, deodorant, or scented products on the area for 24 hours
• Avoid direct sun exposure and always wear SPF 30+ on treated skin
• Hold off on hot baths, saunas, and heavy exercise for a day or two
• Do not tweeze, wax, or thread between sessions — this disrupts the follicle and works against the treatment; trimming is fine
